How Solar Charging Works on Portable Power Stations

PWM and MPPT tracking, input voltage windows and panel pairing - how to recharge a Dengke power station from the sun.

Two tracking types in the range

Dengke power stations recharge from the sun through two controller types. The compact 12.8V platform (CY-DC, CY-HY-300W) uses photovoltaic PWM tracking with a maximum photovoltaic input of 24V. The CY-600W-02 and CY-1200W-02 accept 22-36V solar input at up to 20A through their XT60 ports.

MPPT on the high-capacity series

The A2 series (CY-2000W) tracks the maximum power point with MPPT on both inputs: a DC5521 port accepting 10-45V at up to 10A and an XT60 port rated for 400W of solar input. MPPT squeezes more charge out of the same panel, especially in partial shade or morning light.

Matching panels to inputs

Stay inside the station's input window: 12V panels suit the PWM inputs, while 24V to 36V panel strings make full use of the 22-36V/20A ports. The A2 series' 10-45V window accepts both RV-style 12V/24V panels and higher-voltage arrays.

Practical charging expectations

Solar charging speed depends on panel wattage, sunlight angle and weather. As a planning rule, a full day of good sun restores a meaningful share of mid-size stations, and pairing the XT60 input with a higher-wattage array is the fastest solar path in the range.

Backup charging paths

Every station also charges from wall power. The CY-HY-600W A1/B1 series and the B2 series additionally accept car charging through their DC5521 ports at 12-24V, so a cloudy week never leaves the battery empty.
